These figs of mine this past year were very large, but not the largest:

184-15 is a very good-tasting fig, very surprising for such a large fig.

jason's Brown Turkey.. it was size of a baseball.. i think that tasted bad enough he chopped the tree down.

Armando, those figs look amazing man. Will you let me know when you get cuttings? I can trade you with what I have in my Profile pix. You'll love their taste.

Aaron I have tried over and over to root them and for some reason they mold immediately, seems like in a day, not exagerating...so I am going back and try airlayering.

Send me the cuttings and I'll do them for you Armando.
Now is a good time to get cuttings.

OK Miracle Worker...LOL    Will see if I can visit him within 2 weeks.

I'll make it work, have confidence in me my friend ;)

There is a tree in Alan's neck of the woods, right on Kure beach. This summer it had dark purple figs larger than baseballs. They weren't tasty enough to justify grabbing a cutting but they were huge...

Pied de Boeuf is huge but At least in SW Oregon it tasted pretty bland.  I didn't botther getting cuttings and I'm not there any more.

Addison, I was just wandering if these trees are exposed to enough sun to turn the fruit sweeter or not. Do you recall? In Los Angeles there's plenty of sun to turn any fig into sweeter then original taste.
We can experiment with that , you and I, if you send some cuttings from that tree you saw in Kure beach.

never been in Wilmington Alan, I'm in Los Angeles ;)

Aaron I am planning to visit Igor (greenfig) in February he is also from the Los Angeles area. Maybe we can all have lunch. Will keep you posted. Depends on the weather and the right day. (when I am ready to visit LA will set something up with you guys.)

that would be awesome Armando, you guys can visit my backyard too... maybe we can do greek barbecue in my backyard... Lamb? goes well with figs LOL

Now you got me thinkin, Barbecue sounds better than restaurant. I will bring my dead cuttings for firewood...LOL   ( LA has been on my mind, a lot of places to maybe find some bare root trees).

We're having lamb on the spit Greek style for New Years. You're welcome to come by...
Xronia polla!

Armando, I was driving trough Fresno yesterday. I was surprised how different from LA it looks. Los Angeles and surrounding areas are quite green and Fresno is cold and brown. It seems you have a real winter up there.
