What's my name? Unknown Ty Ty

Good day and have fig day!  Over the weekend, I started moving a few plants around and found a tree with a bit of history.  This tree believe it or not is over 10 years old!  I bought 10 years ago from Ty Ty.  Back then, I never heard of Ty Ty and bought 4 large trees from them in early Spring.  All 4 were planted in my orchard back in 2005.  They were 6 feet tall.  Two turned out to be Celeste and I kept those.  The other 2 did not do well in my climate.  Both died to ground and came back every year.  One died and this is the last one.  THis fig is suppose to be Kadota but it is not Kadota.  It does not have FMV.  Back then I ordered Black Jack, Peter's Honey, Italian Everbearing and Kadota.  I did not bother to contact Ty Ty but I did start my search and found out some not so good information about the nursery.  So, I let by gones be by gones and moved on.

This tree use to be a tall 6 foot tree.  Over the years, I neglected it.  Never fertilized, just left it in my orchard and it looked pretty bad.  Last Fall I dug it up and took it down to just plain of roots.  I soaked the root ball in some root stimulator, potted it up and stuck it in my garage.  This Spring it came to life and out popped a few figs.  So, I decided to keep it.  At least it's  not another Celeste and I have plenty of those!  Any way, do anyone want to guess what this is?   Honestly, I have no idea.  The figs are medium size, tight pink eye.  It might be Italian Everbearing....I really don't know.  I love the leaf pattern...3 lobes.   I'm going to give it some of my Grow Big liquid fertilizer over the next 3 weeks and see what happens.  Thanks for watching.

From what i have read, if it isn't a Celeste, it would almost be a miracle.

It doesn't look like Celeste to me.

what does the fig look like? looks like it hasn't turned color yet. the leaf and the figs on it looks sort of like my Calvert and JH Adriatic.

Well, I know one thing!  THis tree is not Celeste and it's not Brown Turkey.  Figs have a grey color.  This morning, as I was rushing out the door, I took a look at this tree.  There is one fig that's about to ripen!  YEA!

Using my iPhone, I snapped these 2 pics.  I'll take some better photos tonight using my other camera.  I think its Pasteriliere.  It won't be long now.

Is the pot aubergine color? very special  and different than thos faux terracotta plastic pots...

Hi Dennis,
Herman once said it needs help from wasp and i agree as i had a UcDavis one that grew well but dropped almost all figs each season partially ripened a few (dead raw spots inside) and only a handful of dead ripe ones over the years that were some of the best tasting figs in yard.

I still think about that darn taste as it was like eating a mulberry.

my Pastiliere Baud survived fast acting lime and growing well.. both of them. UCD Pastiliere is a runt, i'm waiting for it to die, but it won't die. Baud has few figs on them. i knocked all of them off but one or two each on them. i'll be happy if i can got one fully ripen fig off that tree in next 1-2 yrs. i want to taste mulberry in figs :) it would be one of the those trees i'll keep just for one fig a yr.. well.. two since i have two trees. lol

Pete persistent fertilizer worked in our yard. I dont want to step on Dennis thread as i have documented this cultivar with many pictures of the figs and plant.

The dead ripe fig pictures exterior and interior would please the one observing it.
While some of the others that would only partially ripe would make one go Yuck.

Found the name of this fig today!  This fig is the same as my Maryland Brown Turkey.  ANd the funny thing is that, I repotted them, placed them side by side and it took me a week to see that they were the same fig.  I've been repotted some small babies the past week and this morning took a hard review at all of them in that area.

So, looks like TyTy really fooled me!  Oh well, I learned my leasson and got enough figs to worry about these.  At least now I know what it is and can label it as such.  Just glad I am able to wake up and thank the Lord for I do have and all my blessing!  Be blessed!

Very nice last sentence Dennis if i may so .
