i remember there were BB10, and RdB last year that were getting very popular. after BB10 was found, it seems KB was also getting popular. what's the latest popular fig?

Does BB stand for something? I have not heard of that one.

Black Beauty 10- Discovered by Dan La in LA- May be a French Variety ( Noire de Caromb? Kathleen's Black?)

Still under evaluation by him.

My bet is Malteset Falcon will be the next big thing. From all accounts- It's well worth the hype- Great reviews)

Latest for me is to enjoy some hopefully that i have only tasted a few and still others i have yet to taste in my yard.
In the mean time i will enjoy my old reliables this season if nothing else.

To me I'm looking forward to tasting some that I have collected.
After making sure they're productive in my area I will release them. Here's one that has produced a decent crop and is very unique. I'm calling it Black Honey

Bass's fig looks alot like a fig I found here in Vancouver BC which seems to fit the description of "Barbillone" and is of the "Italian Honey Fig" variety except that it has dark, purplish black skin. The only difference might be that Bass' fig seems to have a slightly heavier bloom than  the fig I found here.

Bass, Nice looking fig . You will have to let us know how It tastes compared to other dark figs .

Hi Cody,
Is that a Military?

Cathy,

Yes,  it is a Military . His name is 'Ranger' ,  He will be 3 years old this next August. My wife purchased him for my birthday when he was only 4 weeks old . I fed and bonded with him until it was time for him to come home. We also have Congo African Grey's , Blue Front , Yellow Nape and  Yellow Crown Amazons ,  A Lilac crown, 2 Senegal's   a Meyers and a pair of Ring necks.

I nominate snaglpus's shrub jackets. And Valle Negra, does anyone have a cutting to trade, by the way?
