We get hot dry summers here (last year was a bit of an exception) and it sounds like that's just what Florea likes. So, I've been looking for Florea. I don't think I've missed anything on Ebay, and I haven't seen one all winter. Is Florea really that rare? Am I out of touch and it's done something to be shunned by the fig community? Has it run away to join the circus? What's going on?

It's fairly rare but not overly so. We'll probably have a few available in the spring and I'm thinking they'll go quickly. Probably should have propagated more! I've heard it has a tendency to split but it's been okay for me (not as bad as some others). The eye is a little more open than some but the flavor is very good for me.
