What's your favorite 2012 yellow skinned fig?

Martins Yellow Everbearing.

I think my Blanche De Deux is going to be a winner.
And the one that was thought to be a Dauphine was very tasty! But because I was upset it wasn't true to its' name I gave it away to a distant family member. Yes, I have my regrets thinking about it now.

"Martins Yellow Everbearing."

LOL!

JoAnn birds in my area only hit the green figs and yellow figs if they see honey oozing or ants. But they mostly go for those of darker color.

Hey Robert, I deleted your email by accident. Please resend it to me and yes, we can trade.

Frank, I forgot about Atreano Gold! That's another good one.

Pete, you know I have a large LSU Champagne and that dude only gave me 3 figs this year. But I have to agree with you. They are amazing!

Hey Michael, most folks here say Mary Lane is no good. That's one reason why I don't have one. I need to try them for myself. Thanks for the comment.

Calvin, I'm about to light a torch to my Peter's Honey! I'm not happy with mine.

TMC, I never heard of Italian Golden Honey. Got any photos? I'm curious.

HA Martins Yellow Everbearing? HA

don't forget "Jon's Yellow Turkey"

Had an unknown. First year to ripen a few figs. Figs are small in size with just the right amount of sweetness.

Looks like many of the usual sellers are also on Amazon selling figs:  http://www.amazon.com/Blanche-Italian-Marseilles-Heritage-SHIPPING/dp/B003W44KBG

I saw this same ad on ebay, curious what this really is, because there is a diff between White marseilles and Italian Honey etc.

yeap, my peter's honey, italian Honey, and White Marseilles are all different figs. My WM ripens in June and the figs are large completely green figs and white inside. They are amazingly sweet! My PH figs are small, round smooth skin and completely yellow, amber pulp, not much taste.

This year i started collection IH figs from various nurseries. There is a major screw-up on the naming of these fig and many nurseries are to blame. WM has ribs all around, green exterior, white inside. IH, at least the ones I have are completely yellow in and out and very sweet. My plan is to get rid of my PH and keep only WM and IH.

And I am surprised to hear those with "yellow Desert King" figs. Are they really Desert King? My DK is green when ripe and matches those at UCD. I hope Jon and others chime in here and comment. I'm currently growing Desert King and Norman's Yellow side by side, 4 each, all are 5' tall. I will know next year if these DKs are yellow.

thanks!

Here are few pics of my White Marseilles and Desert King at UCD.

Dennis, let your DK ripen a little more. You will find some brown spots on skin when it turns yellowy light green. Yummy, tummy. The interior would be reddish.

Do you mean not much taste as in washed out and bland like a Brown Turkey or sweet and not much else. Maybe it's the intense sun and dry air here in the Denver area; my PH are medium sized and the pulp/juice is thick and viscous, similar to...agave nectar with hints of vanilla is the closest comparison I can come up with. Next year maybe I can expand on that.

Ok Paully, I will do that.

Calvin, when I say my Peter's Honey have no taste, I mean they have no taste at all!  Nothing, zelch, nada, nothing.  When mine are ripe they just fall from the tree.  They don't taste like honey, they taste like stryofoam!  My tree puts out a lot of figs but I have not been impressed with them.  It could very well be my climate among other things.  I'm glad you and a few others like it.  I'm about ready to dig mine up, drag it from the rear bumper of my truck and toss it in Lake Norman!

I happen to like Southeastern Brown Turkey figs.  Some do not, but I do.  The Brown Turkey figs I have taste very good.  I've got 6 good Brown Turkey figs.

Interesting, I would dig it up also.
