Welcome to the forum! If you start now you'll have to take care of 3+ foot fig plants by the time your weather gets warm enough to put them outside. If you can keep citrus alive in the winter you shouldn't have any problem with figs.
Some people wait until April to start cuttings so they will be able to put them outside when they're ready to be potted up.
It's all up to you as far as how much work you want to do, how much room and lighting you have and when you want figs. If you start cuttings now and keep them growing all winter you may have fruit next year.
