When to prune and take out of storage

I am in zone 7 (coastal CT).  I have a Brown Turkey Fig that grows in a pot and I overwinter in the garage.  When should I prune it and when should I take out of storage for the Spring.  Last year I pruned too late and the fruit didn't have time to ripen, don't want that to happen again.

Prune as soon as possible, preferably before it leafs out.  Wait at least until April before leaving it out.  You can take it out sooner but are taking a risk leaving over night should the temps go below freezing.

Leave some of last years growth if you want brebas.
