When to remove film from graft

Had to take some drastic measures for a couple fig cuttings that were declining rapidly. I did a couple cleft grafts and chip grafts of Texas BA-1, one chip graft of Kathleens Black and one chip graft of CDDN. I grafted them to LSU Purple a week ago and all are still alive so its promising! What Im not sure of is when to remove the grafting tape? I would think about month or so would be good?

The grafts I was working on, I waited 6 weeks just to be safe. If the cutting looks shriveled, I would take this off, it will mold and affect the tree. On looking back, I think you can check on the graft at 4 weeks to see if any problems happened (mold).  Good Luck My Friend.

6 month or a year. There is generally no reason to rush, if you used flexible materials, such as green nursery tape, when grafting. Early removal risks damaging the graft.

Thanks for the info, I will forget about them unless I see some need to remove the scions due to mold. Fingers crossed they grow! These are some of the ones I was really looking forward too!!!
