I am having trouble.  Too many photos posted with the related threads are not visible.  Did I do, or click on something that prevents me from seeing the posted photos.  I don't remember this being a problem in the recent past.

Also, when reading older postings that once include photos, the accompanying pictures are deleted, and no longer visible.  Why?  Some older postings from prior years are rendered meaningless without the pictures.

In my opinion, photos should always remain with the thread.  It's like reading a magazine, with half the story missing.

EDIT:  Some photos, in some threads, show on my screen, but in some threads, there aren't any photos showing.  It's probably my fault...but I don't know how to correct this situation.

Can you post links to the affected threads? In some cases, members are removing older pics in order to reduce having their images stolen by unscrupulous ebay sellers, et al.

I noticed something yesterday that might be relevant when I accessed the site.  At the time I had a rather slow connection. When I clicked on a post initially I just saw the text with no image.  Then when I was about to give up the image slowly popped up.  I suspect this is more likely to occur with images that require a lot of memory.  Have you tried leaving a post up for a while to see what happens?  Maybe it will eventually come up.

Thanks for all the possible reasons.  I'm very unfamiliar with using my laptop, and when I have difficulties, I either learn to live with it, or try to seek help. I don't know how to troubleshoot, or take the steps to correct anything.  That's one of the reasons why my postings are photo-free.  I simply do not know how to post photos.  Ignorance is not bliss...sometimes.

If you are logged in to the site and can see some of the pics, then other possible reasons may be that some members use image hosting web sites such as Picasa or Fotobucket to upload their pics to and then paste the URL from that image to this forum so we can see a larger image directly from their post. As time passes, they may move/remove the image or close the account and the link is broken.

Do you think the posters realize that the photos are not attached to their threads.  What's the point of posting photos if only some can see the pictures?

Initially, we can probably see them. It may be a long time after the posting that the link is broken. By then, the poster may not know what happened or realize it happened due to their action or closed account.
