Where to cut a cutting?

Hey Folks,

Silly question - I want to take some cuttings from my first year potted trees now that it's getting cold. But where in relation to the node do I cut?

Should I cut just below a node, or just above, or does it not matter?

Also, should I cut on a diagonal, or straight across?

I cut the bottom straight across between nodes. Cut the top at a diagonal above a node. That's mostly to tell top from bottom. Then before rooting more can be cut off if needed.

Thanks Fignutty, seems simple enough.

Good Luck sprouting it!
