Anyone know where I can order Chicago Hardy Figs this time of year?

I found out my aunt likes figs and wanted to try the kind I am growing, but the trees are obviously in dormancy right now (although with this warm weather, who knows). 

She is not well and figured some figs might cheer her up. 

Any help is much appreciated. 

Out of season, she is going to have to wait :-(

Trader Joe's has fresh frozen Calamata figs from Turkey.
Not Hardy Chicagos. you could make great smoothie for her or grill them for next to Lamb dish or a nice Filet Mignon steak or even on a fresh salad. Can also glaze them for over a Pancake in the morning.
OK, this is as creative as I can get at this age. 'm going to bed, LOL

Our Trader Joe's here definitely has frozen figs. They keep them in the freezer pit with the rest of the frozen fruit. I have a few bags in my home freezer right now.

Unless you can get someone in a warm climate who has a tree that's still ripening fruit to ship you some, frozen, canned, or dried is your only option in store right now.

Appreciate the feedback.  Looks like I'll have to go the frozen route if I can't find someone that's growing them. 

How do you prepare frozen figs?   When they thaw they just seem to turn to mush.

      I frees figs yesterday. Store in the refrigerator in August. Grades Sarah Absheron and Violet de Bordeaux.

Figlegacy: I have been searching for fresh figs for a little while and back in October I got lucky and found a small mom and pop shop that had several baskets of green figs so I bought almost all the baskets (left three) atesome all the way home then stored the rest in my freezer. Its the only way to enjoy somewhat fresh figs year-round.

Figwhisperer: Thanks for the tip on the Trader Joes frozen figs! I will have to check my local store for future emergency fig cravings. I didnt know!

Vlad, those are gorgeous!  did you freeze them wet to get an ice coating, or just put them in the freezer in a single layer?

Sarina, summer is completely unrealistic to eat fresh figs. Folding figs in plastic bags and put in the freezer.

I Like the Photo of Frozen Figs by Vladis...LOL   I think there may be some fresh figs in Calexico or Imperial Valley of California, Its hot in that area all the time.
