Depends on how you push them.

My RdB was in SWC and grew to 4 ft. I pinched and now getting fruit. Same with Green Ischia.

M Fico Preto is slower growing and may give me one this year. But temps have been low compared to last year.

Off of your list I got figs (6-12) during the year following the initial rooting year from these:

Black Madeira
White Ischia
Green Ishia

I allowed 1 Black Madeira fig to ripen on the same year it rooted.  I just couldn't resist leaving it.

My Bkack Maderia is producing this year, only two may make it but it's 1.5 years old now.

Pete,

Sorry for the diversion but what does pinching do and is there a technique?

Charles,

When a tree is not putting out the figs, or if you want to force the fig, you "pinch" the terminal bud on a branch after about 6th leaf. Basically, you remove the terminal bud by cutting it with you thumb nail against you index finger. I think Herman first brought this up.

Thanks Pete,

I'm guessing that would also induce branching on that limb at the next flush.

I experience new shoots appear quickly after nipping the ends and i nip them as well. Once in a while depending i will leave one for future fruiting branch.

i know pinching is used for branching also.. but at least with my Kathleen's Black, branches are coming out at really weird angle after the pinching. and if i pinch again, it comes out in different angle that is also weird. i'll just prune at the end of the year for way i want the trees to look.. not that that helps shaping my trees any. i have no artistic eyes when it comes to making trees look good.
