I plan on keeping the trees in Pots.  Which Pro-Mix is recommended ? They have big selection to choose from. Currently I have some clippings I'm trying to get roots and just planning ahead.

I never used Pro-Mix before just Foxfarm products for plants/Vegetables but this is my first year with Figs.

The smaller the tree the lighter the mix. Big trees use a heavier mix or you'll spend your life watering.

thanks

ProMix HP is better if you can pay attention to watering since it is "High Porosity" and recommended for pots.  See these other threads (there are some more):

I have had figs flourish in ProMix BX with almost no fertilizer, but I am now using Promix HP. I do add a lot of amendments to the soil btw. Especially dolomitic limestone.

I use BX with great results.  I do add Osmocote fertilizer though.  I agree with using HP if available, as it has more perlite.  The BX was the only option for me at the time I bought the bales, reason for using it.

I have been using ProMix HP and have been very happy with it.  I have started cuttings in cups with dampened HP with good results.
