a Chicago Hardy fig to fully ripen on my little tree , I went out to check again this morning only to find it gone ! Our Siberian husky "Sage" had already decided it was ripe enough for her ! My hubby caught her under the covering chewing away ! Two bites and it was gone !I am trying out "row covers" to cover my trees and keep out the cardinals . And it does keep them out . Guess I will have to pin the covers down in the pots now to keep Sage out. Anyway I think she enjoyed it .
I had a similar encounter a couple weeks ago with my Negronne fig. I had a thread dedicated to watching the ripeness of that stupid thing - and my dog ate it!It's a good thing they are cute.
I used to have a Siberian Husky ( Mylo ).One goofy dog. But a beautiful one! Red and White but this one had both his eyes the same color, Green.I miss his howling when he heard the sirens. LOLOh,,,,,sorry to hear about the fig. Oh well.
I used to have an American Pitbull Terrier ( Scooboo ).He was Red, ears clipped and short tailed and also Green eyes. This dog was a pure breed. Bloodline was pure McCoy.Got stolen from my yard, he was four or five months old, hate to even think what he was used for. Very playful when I had him.
