White fuzzy stuff on fig tree?

I have a question for everyone?

I have got an Alma tree that has some white fuzzy looking stuff on it, any idea's on what it is, and how to treat it?

Cecil, is it anything like the pictures posted in the thread
"Identifly Fig Tree Diesease"  by Vinnlarh recently or something different , can you post pictures of it ?

Martin,
It is not the same looking as vinnlahr's

And i cannot post pictures right now!
I searched both forums, did not come with anything.
I just washed it off with the garden hose, it is gone for now?

Thanks

Thanks Dan,
If it comes back I will try that!

And thanks Scott, I think you might be right about the plant hoppers

The most common kind of white fuzzy stuff here are planthopper juveniles. If you pick a white fuzzy area and use a toothpick to poke in the middle, it will scurry out of the way. They secrete a wax. Don't cause much of an issue. Just a possibility. The adult plant hoppers are also usually hanging around.

Scott

It was the planthopper, I just looked at the little white sucker!

Thanks

Glad that's all it is. They don't seem to cause big issues here. The larvae put that waxy secretion all over their back making them hard to see.

Yes
That looks exactly like the one I looked at.

Glad they don't do much harm.

again Thanks

Those have appeared on my young fig trees here in Atlanta as well.  I usually just spray them off but I've heard they are not very tough critters and can be controlled with many different types of insecticides.  I've tried neem oil and that seemed to work pretty well.
