White Greek 2013 pics

Good day, with all the rain and flooding we've had, this fig ripened today! It's a White Greek that I got from JV last Fall. The figs were very sweet! Sweeter than Improved Celeste this year! I can only imagine how they would taste if we had perfect weather this month.

enjoy!

Glad you liked them!

I don't think I've seen any figs that white before.  It is well named and sounds like a good one in the taste department too.

goss

This White Greek is Rafed's White Greek. So, if you got White Greek RK cuttings from Jon this year, this is the fruit. It is an excellent very sweet fig.

It is a good fig and glad you like it.
I just wonder if I saved a little one for myself since I gave the mother tree away?

How well does it do in the humid south?

It splits a little at the eye but the eye is sealed with honey. In another post, some were saying it's not "White Greek", but it is. It's just a different White Greek cultivar. By its shape, it looks like Marseilles White but it's not. It doesn't have the know ribs that Marseilles White has. It's brighter, greener with an amber rich pulp. It does not spoil either.
