All your trees are looking great Pete ! Hope they reward you with lots of figs this year .

Hope and time may well make a difference.  And at least it's easy on the eye while you wait.

goss

That tree is growing fast.....almost time to repot!  Looking good though!

pete your trees look awesome!

Pete that's one a healthy looking tree. Hope it does well for you.

thanks guys. i moved it into 10 gal container few weeks ago and it just got over the transplant stress. i'm definitely looking forward to the figs this season, but the weather is not cooperating. VdB, and Paradiso are starting to push figs. but Kathleen's Black, and White Greek looks as if they are still waiting on better weather.

Nice tree Pete.

Good luck for the coming crop, and you will show us the fruits.
Have wished to try some Greek figs for a long time and this year made my decision.
Got 3 varieties already rooted which are doing fine! but still small trees:

-SMIRNAIKA
-KALAMATIANA
-VASSILIKA MELISSA

Have you ever heard of these names ?
Leaves still too young and irregular for comparisons
Francisco

francisco,

i have not heard of them, but i don't know too much about the figs, just the more common ones. however, i have heard that this White Greek is similar if not same as following figs.

Vasilika Sika
Dalmatie
Stella

i have heard that even martin would like this one, if he try eating white figs :) it's a good size fig with dark red pulp. however, in it's first yr, 2012, it didn't have any taste at all. it was almost like eating something that looks like fig, but tasted like clean air. i'm hoping that it will improve in taste this yr.

it's the large dark red pulp one in the middle.

It is a nice fig and should be sweet and flavored.
As you know I love figs with red/deep red/purple and pomegranate pulp colors, and when this is associated with honey tears, the better.

My experience has shown that birds (lovers of ripe figs) if the fig is oozing, they first 'drink' that honey  without getting to the meat!!  only after the drink they go for the pulp.

You are right,, only after the second third year after rooting figs start to show all their potential and Sun is always the real name of the game.

When my 3 Greeks grow enough to display good size leaves I shall have to come for help.
