White Ischia..turns out it might be White Marseilles

Despite thinking I had 2 different trees of Green Ischia from 2 different sources... I'm now thinking they are both White Ischia by the looks of it lol. Both produce the same figs as shown below.

A refreshing taste... not very figgy or rich, somewhat sweet. I would eat more of these for sure though. I'd give it a 7 or 8/10. The plant below was bought at Lowe's in Florida and labelled as "Ischia Fig" but in the description on the label it said it had red flesh. Oh well... I don't mind at all.

White Ischia are typically very small fruit, and need to be pretty "ugly" before they are really ripe. They do have a nice flavor. Thye have a lot of characteristics in common with Yellow Neeches.

Your fig is White Marseilles

Thanks Jon and Vasile. I appreciate your input.

That looks exactly like the tree that I received from hurtz garden as a tissue culture blue ischia but the figs were very small. The leaves look the same as well.

The leaves are quite distinctive from all my other figs. Dark green and quite glossy.

I bought a Green Ischia last year and the breba was clearly not a green ischia.  The leaves and fig look very similar to yours.
I checked with the nursery and they said no its not green ischia and apologized and said they would go back and check the mother tree.  Haven't hear back yet.

I'm guessing we bought from the same place lol.

Aey, I am sure we did we did..LOL  I love the guy and he does a super job he probably received misnamed cuttings.

The breba was really nice and your main crop looks nice so it is a keeper for me but still looking for green Ischia.

Shape can vary, but this is a very typical shape and color, with the stem not blending into the shape of the fig, but sticking out more like and apple sten.

Thanks for the pics Jon, I am going to be on the look out for White Ischia now.

Looks like a good one Richie!

Tyler,
looks like I had 3 of these and gave two away since last year they did not impress me.
This year the third one came as a real beauty, but I put Jurupa, RdB, Citrus, Excell and White and Bronze Paradiso ahead of it.

My tissue culture "Ischia" tree also seems to be a White Marseilles. I was actually looking forward to a Green Ischia.

Back at this thread. My tree is very large now. 2 years ago i cit it back to 6 feet tall while dormant its now full of breba on a few branches. But its tall again. Has three main trunks. Should i cut one trunk at ground level to make a bush and have more breba. There is a video showing this done and she never leaves a branch on more then 3 years. She gets tons of breba. My problem is it gets so tall.
