White Triana 10-14-13

Not impressed with this one. Very large but not much flavor and not sweet at all. About a 3.

Mike: Nice, thanks for sharing. Your White Triana is not the as Nelson's White Triana. Can you please let me know where did you get your tree from. Thanks.

This is a link to Nelson's Triana. His figs look very nice. I wonder if his White Triana is the same as the one sold by Jon at Encanto Farms Nursery.

Best,

Tam, my cuttings came from a forum member. Nelson's tree is a two year old tree and mine is a cutting from the past winter. It may be that they look
more a like in a few years if mine gets to hang around. LOL

Mike,:It is the Cool Summer, and Fall,  making  The fruits mediocre tasting.
In a normal warmer dryer Summer, the difference will be Huge.
Many cultivars here were ,disappointing this year, but knowing how good they were ,in the past, i am not blaming them.

Mike and Herman2: Thanks for sharing good information.

Best,

Good information indeed

Mike i forget do you grow them in containers?

Martin, everything is in containers but my large Celeste. They will start going in ground this spring. I have been doing
some testing and lots of reading from the northern members about hardiness and I am ready to put "some" in ground.

Thanks Mike reason i ask is it was in container and even though season was cooler this year for much of country
including our yard first time plants here were no 3 like you mentioned but 1 plant was little better but had to discard as i saw no hope compared to other tasty ones that were exceptional from day 1.
Inground may be different so why i asked.
