Who here is growing figs for commercial production?

I know Jon is selling some fruit, mostly to a local market, if I recall correctly.  When at the repository I heard a story of someone local who was reportedly doing very well selling figs at farmers' markets, but standing around for many hours on a set schedule is not my bag of tea.  I see some markets and fruit stands selling fruits, but not in large quantities.  I've also heard of some sales to chefs directly, but don't imagine that would take much volume.  If you have any tips on areas that I should investigate, please share them.

Thanks, I did see that thread after making my post and plan on checking it out later.  There is probably more competition here in California, though.  I only have enough figs for my own use now but have thought I could do a trial planting of figs in the middle of the rows of my chestnut orchard since those won't crowd in for over 10 years.  By then I could figure out what I'm doing and start over.  This may be a project for my son. :)
