Hi!  We've been shaking gently every now and then for an hour or two.  You expect this in California.  Haven't got under the table once!  Pool has waves north too south, chair rocks north to south........  5.3 earthquake.  Figs don't mind at all!  Even the avocado seeds I'm sprouting in water are taking it like champs!!

On the earthquake map,we are quite close to the town of Indio you see above that lake!  The lake is The Salton Sea.

Happens all the time.  We are a little jaded!

Whew, glad all the figs AND YOU came through! You all are too accustomed to such lil' shakins. Last year, almost to the day, when we had our big Northeast quake centered in Mineral VA ! Repairs still on-going..

That quake in VA was also felt up here in PA nd NY and made quite a stir in the news. We are jaded about a lot of things here in the NE, but not about earthquakes

In California, our homes are built to withstand, but quakes happen in odd places where nobody ever expected them.  People and animals die.  Figs survive earthquakes, unless there is a volcano where the lava burns them.  Natural events are a part of life.  We don't always like the carnage they bring.

I'm happy that plants can survive an earthquake.  I love all my plants!!  Man made structures are where the issues begin!  Earthquakes usually don't swallow people, but buildings, if not built properly, will do the job easy!!
