WICKED Wind storm lastnight

Hey Everybody ,
So, I live in whats called the 'Chehalis Gap' . It's a river valley stuck in between 2 mountain ranges . The weather and storms that Seattle is known for hit us first. The storms come raging in from the coast and funnel through the 'Gap'.  Last night we had a doozy. We had gusts up to 70MPH.

I wake up this morning and go out to start my car . Something just seemed out of place, then I realized that my 4x8 mini greenhouse from 'Home Depot' was GONE! At the bottom, on the sides of the greenhouse, are flaps. That WERE held down by 2 Semi-trailer tires filled with soil and two 4 ft. rail road ties.

Anyways, My greenhouse jumped two 5 ft. field fences and ended up 2 neighbors away . Needless to say ,the greenhouse is a total loss . Sorry no pic's but I'm wet ,cold and need another cup of coffee .

I'm in the heart of Seattle. It was windy but not as bad as what you had. I had to go out and pick up my back yard as everything had been strewn about. This morning I had my guy out to talk garden sheds with me. Good timing because he said the wind storm we had was a good reminder that we'll need to fasten it down so it doesn't get knocked over (will only be 3 ft deep, so not as stable as some).

Sorry to hear about your greenhouse was a loss. What a huge bummer. Stay warm and snuggle the pup. That always makes me feel better.

Cody,
Sorry to hear about greenhouse.  The wind was crazy last night. How are the fig trees and other plants in the greenhouse?

Cody did it look like this Hd one ?

Thanx Guy'z ,

Scott: The figs in The G.H. are fine . I had a 4 shelf stand with about 20 cuttings of 'Clemson Hardy' Bottle Brush and 'Congo' French Lilac on it . I lost 2 bottle brush and an air layer i was doing on a Desert King.

Martin: Mine was about the same size, but it HAD zipper vent/screens on the sides and was made by the same company .

Very sorry this happened.  Hopefully the plants will recover.  Sorry about the loss of your greenhouse!  Bummer!  Storms Pass!  Sun shines.  Better days ahead!

Suzi

I heard that wind last night, I was worried about some tall trees nearby. I am sorry for your loss Cody. Hope you will be able to replace the damaged ones.

Perhaps you will get a stronger and heavier greenhouse or tie it to cinderblocks?  Truly sorry.

I am south a bit from you, Cody. We got some heavy rains that flooded in our creek out back.  I didnt hear much wind here though.  Sorry about the greenhouse.
