Will a long cutting with no nodes grow

No he lives in Pennsylvania lol. He sent me a puc of his next door neighbor tree. AND IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THAT ONE lol. It really does. When he sent it i thought of this tree you posted. I have to show you. It has a twin. Richie from louisiana

All the fig suckers i have seen are near the base of the tree and probably are from underground branches and not roots.

On the other hand i believe jujube suckers from roots since they sucker 1-2 meters out of the base of the tree somtimes.

My experience as well on both species. Those shoots that come up near a fig bush aren't from the roots. They're from the base of the plant. If you dig out all the base of a fig the roots don't sprout. I've left plenty of fig roots in my greenhouse and not one sprout.

Jujube on the other hand send up root sprouts by the dozens. I dug out 7 trees and got about one foot of the roots all the way around the trees base. It took two yrs to kill off all the sprouts from the roots that remained. If you dig out a fig like that there will be no sprouts.

Fig wood can develop nodes.   The older the wood the more time it takes.  Fig roots will never sprout.  Keiki paste may accelerate the process.

figpig_66,
it can definitely root, in fact, it could be a great root stock for grafting. Good luck ;)
