Winter fig ripening setup

I've got 4 fig plants just moved from greenhouse to sunroom/growlight setup. It's time to accumulate chill hours in greenhouse. That means 30s night and 50s day for two months. In the sunroom and under growlights I'm shooting for 90F during ~14 hrs with light and can hold 50-60F minimum at night after lights are turned off. Light is about 5,000 fc sunroom and 1-3,000 under lights, 600 watts. They'll get about 8 hrs light in sunroom and then be moved under growlights at night and get another 6 hrs lights on. The sunroom heats house by day. Growlight setup is inside house so get heat from that as well.

That is great, Steve.  Have you done this before?  Certainly looks like it would work.

Did one yr with limited success. My plants weren't as good and I think I didn't water enough.

The varieties are Strawberry Verte, Pan E Vino Dark, Battaglia, and Bronze Paradiso all started as cuttings in March.

Steve you have the BEST setup!  I'm so jealous!!!  Looks great!

Thanks padsfan! It is nice to have abundant sunshine all winter and a warm sunroom whenever the chill sets in. I also like having the lights inside to keep things toasty. But it's not cheap. $600 worth of growlights for 4 fig plants, yikes!

Neat Steve I hope it works ok for you.

Great ideas for growing figs year round!
