Winter in Paradise

Really nice Jon, keep up the good work :-)

Same as winter in my grow room  :)

Jon this is winter in Paradise ; )

That's a really nice pic Jon.

We are still dealing with freezing night time temps here.  Paradise is another month and a half away.

Bob, exactly! here's a picture in my sheltered paradise of new Hardy Chicago leaves.

Jon,

Love the play of light in your photo.

Martin, first rule of snow: you visit it, it doesn't visit you.

Figs like our winters and our long warm/hot summer days.  Very few leaves so far on outdoor plants but several plants are forming brebas (Jurupa, Flanders, LSU Purple, some others).  We've had daytime temperatures in the 70s and lows in the 30s and 40s.  Pretty nice.

Here are a few of mine waiting for their first look at spring weather, at least 6 weeks before these will get outside here

I did post same picture in another thread, but was intended here. sorry if there is a double post.

I could post pictures of the outside container figs, all leafing out and wonderful, but I got bigger fish to fry!!  :-))  Got a mountain to conquer!  Seriously!  Where to put the grapes, where to put the figs, where to ...............  The previous owner put irrigation all over that hill, but it doesn't work.  A mystery!

Spring is coming everywhere, and I wish all of you the best!  I'll be busy for a long time with this mountain of mystery we purchased!

Martin,
Nice tree. What kind of fig tree is that?
I bend my trees over and tarp them so the frost doesn't get to them. I'm still trying to discover which trees can survive these long harsh winters.
PS snow on the way about 10" :(
Happy Monday evening everyone.

Luigi the one in a pot is my panache the in post # 15 is not fig but called a pussy willow that split
real bad that eve ( have pictures ) and i went out there late with my bow saw and cut it as it was partially leaning on the fence , the next morning i dressed for the weather and cut it up eventully removing the tree when the weather permitted and was happy to do so as it attracted the mean yellow jackets.
