Ottawan,
It has been very difficult this season. Some things are not yet dormant, some are already leafing out, some are leafless, but still green (not fully hardened), and others, which appearing dormant, and hardened, are full of sap, ready to burst forth. Each has had cuttings taken, so far, trying to balance giving it all the time we can to let it harden off, but taking them before they break dormancy. It has been a tree by tree decision for 4 weeks now, and still many of the cuttings have not been taken in the hopes they will harden more rather than breaking dormancy. I don't want to trade weather with any other fig grower, but it has been uniquely difficult this season.
