Hi Dave,
There are 64 trees on the table, 18 more in the Sterilite container, 12 more in my office, and about 10 more stuck in various places around my house. It's getting way out of hand, but I don't see it ending any time soon :)

My wife said she would kill me if I did that to the kitchen table. I said, don't worry honey. I don't need anymore cuttings. Her response was "yeh right, that's what you said 2 months ago."

Good job.

Dan,
Actually it was my wife who got me interested in fig trees about six years ago when someone gave her a little fig seedling. She has personal names for some of her favorite fig trees in our little backyard orchard, such as: "Miss Figgy",  "Lady Of The Night",  "Mr. LaRocca",  etc.   She's as bad as me about figs trees,  Ok, maybe not "that" bad.

By the way quite a few of the little trees on the table are the result of trades made with members of this forum over the last couple of months.  See if you recognize yours. LOL...   Come on, you know which one is yours.  See that one waving to you........

Well, I don't feel quite so badly, seeing everyone else's winter projects, lol!  Since I live in S. California, where we don't really have much of a winter, all my "projects" are outside.  At one time, I had a very lovely outdoor kitchen area.  Now, it has been taken over by figs, citrus and succulent projects:

As you can see, this is really nice place to hang out, but I've made it such a mess!  My long-suffering, non-gardening husband it being extraordinarily patient with me.  My project today:  Get all this stuff down into my little greenhouse he and I built last year, that is just sitting, becoming a collecting place for trash.  Here's the greenhouse at the end of my walk & pick stone/pome fruit orchard:

And, here is the mess I have to clean up:

And, here are some of the figs.  My Sal's Corleone that I've just potted up (thank you, Al-northeastnewbie):

And a Ronde de Bordeaux that I rooted earlier this year that is still in the pot.  Have to find the best spot in my garden for it:

:lus a Verdone (Strawberry) fig cutting start waiting to leaf out if we get a run of warmer temps:

If I can get all this down to my greenhouse, I might just get on Santa's good list, and off the naughty list, ho, ho, ho!  I still need to get water and electricity in the greenhouse, a big deep stainless sink put in (going to check out a 2nd hand commercial kitchen place here where I live, to pick one up on the cheap), and screening put up on the roof, so it doesn't end up being an oven in the summer.  No small task, but at least I have several months to get it done!

Vince, hope you don't mind that we share your thread with our projects. Here is my set up and
at present there are 99 fig cuttings/rooted/leaved out. I still have about 25-30 more in baggies
trying some different approaches. Vince, I sure like your upside down set up. I went ahead and
ordered 100 more cups and lids this time. LOL

Vince, sorry if I've sort of side-lined your thread, I should have said something as I posted a bunch of my photos.  Mike, I love how neat and organized your cuttings are!  I'm going to strive to replicate that in my greenhouse, sigh...

Mike,
I like the indoor light set up.....probably much quicker growth rate....all my trees get is about 3 hrs. of morning sun light through those two dining room windows.

Patty S.
No problem Patty.  I love to see the projects of other Forum members.  Your patio and back yard are beautiful.  And that greenhouse.....now I'm jealous !!

Peter,
Glad you liked the video.  I actually got the idea for the upside down cups from a thread right here on the Forum.     Thanks.

Grasa,
That dining room table gets used about once a year, and this year the big Christmas gathering will be at my sister-in-laws house.  So I have another years grace period on that spot....WooHoo !!

Patty - I see no mess. just a lot of happy plants.

After seeing Vince's and Mike's nurseries maybe I'm not as addicted as I think I am.

Glad I saw this thread.  I just had my wife read all the posts to ensure her I'm not abnormal.  ;)
I currently have 19 one gallon pots going under grow lights, and 8 cuttings in baggies.

Nice try.

Having your wife read this thread to prove you are not abnormal is like taking your wife to an opium den and showing her all the other addicts to prove that you are not one yourself.   While I am happy for you that she bought it, the ugly truth is that you are no different than any of the rest of us here.  There is no hope for you either, Frank.   (Do not let your wife read this).

LOL!  You're absolutely right, Dave.  If I had it my way, the living room would be a jungle.  I am completely comfortable here.  ;)

Hi Dave,
Good to hear from you.  All is well here, buisy getting ready for the Christmas gathering.  Two of the Havasu's rooted already and also one of the VdB's. They have been transfered to the 32oz. deli cups for the next phase of development.  Hope all is well with you and your family.  Holiday wishes to all.

Hmm, don't know if I agree with the analogy of a fig hobby and an opium den : )

You may be be right.  Opium comes from poppy flowers, and fig trees  don't have visible flowers.  So the analogy may not be a good one.

My bad.

though some people enjoy both figs and opium i am sure. i like the smell of opium i get that smelly stuff from the mall you boil over a candle. the whole hose fills with it. eather way you slice it its an addiction. whether its opium, figs, or what ever, keep it natral and hey, atleast its not crack. no but really :) . i am going to build a small out building this spring to house my fig propagation projects over winter. i bet i could fit alot of cups in a 15x20 foot space with several shelves and grow lights. thats an adiction.
