Wuhan

Unfortunately the tree has only two figs this year and they both split. They were probably atleast three days from being fully ripened. You can still see the amber color and the taste was pretty blah and not very sweet or moist but I thought I would post anyway.

I have one too but has not fruited yet. I think the weather has something to do with it.
Mine appears to have rust so I will be spraying it soon.

Nonetheless,
I have never heard anything negative about this cultivar. Just the way the dice rolled this season I guess.
Give it another year or two to mature. I doubt you will ever regret holding on to it.

I will but all the talk about Wuhan was it was good for the south because it liked heat, humidity and rain.

Mike, this fig can't handle too much water. The same happens to me occasionally, but I've eaten quite a few good ones. Give it another year or two like Rafed said.

My first Wuhan from a 1-1/2 year old tree. I was planning on waiting another day or two but the fig fell off in my hand. Its been an unusually cool summer and we are currently in a "warm" spell . Skin was chewy but not thick, There was no seed crunch or taste, the flavor was bland, just a hint of sweet with a slight indescribable aftertaste.

I tried to root this fig twice. I lost it the second time when i was up-potting. It is no longer on my wish list especially after reading your comments.

I am rooting one now. Lets see how it likes the SoCal weather.
