Wuhan in Chinese ?

Hi,

I have a Chinese neighbor and I would like to tell her about Wuhan but to be more impressive, I would like to show the name in Chinese.
Can anybody help me with this, please?
I would appreciate if you could attach an image with the name written in Mandarin.

Thank you!

I am in Hunan in China, Wuhan cultivation in China is very common, very high, this is my  Wuhanwuhan2.jpg wuhan3.jpg wuhan1.jpg

Hopefully, this will work.

Wuhan's chinese name is 中国紫无花果

Wow! Thank you planteur123 and pyxistort , your Chinese names look different though ...
Could you tell me what is the difference and what is the literal translation to English of those words?

What I posted is the name of a City, Wuhan.  What planteur123 posted is a "possible" fig variety name in China.  The translation of that name is "Chinese Purple Fig."

Why do you say "possible"?
This fig does not have an established name?

Most chinese people do not know this fig name. in China, 99.9999% people call "Wuhan" fig is fig ,that chinese name is 无花果 。 :)

You can tell your neighbor that " 无花果“ with a purple skin when it ripe, I think all chinese people will know it is " Wuhan" fig.

Thank you, xxx, for an explanation! Is was heplful.
无花果
it is then!

Interesting... So if in China "Wuhan" is not a named variety, how many different kinds of figs are sold in the US under the name "Wuhan"?
God knows...
I am sure there are people who ordered Wuhan trough eBay directly from China, and there are people who acquired it through the nurseries/private collectors here in the US.
In a year or two we can compare what we have and I bet it is going to be a Wuhan Zoo :)

The 中国紫无花果 (Chinese purple fig) is a variety of fig (无花果 ) growing in all China. From a town to another it can be slightly different. The American selection was brought from Wuhan city and American growers gave it the name of the city (exactly the same way as "Marseille" fig from France which, in Marseille, is named "Couille du Pape").
