Many good things have been said about that one. I too am waiting for my tree to begin production

great to hear itHowie, welcome to the club, I'm waiting patiently for mine also Barry but I have a long way to go.

You are welcome Howie.

Suzi, I might be able to help you out at the end of the year.

Navid.

I cannot wait til next year to try some of the figs. My mouth is watering already. :)

Sounds like a major score!    I  hope it is a good grower for you.

Hope the tree performs to all your expectations!  Good luck with your new-found treasure.

Frank

Navid,

Thanks for your generous offer.  I would have sent a PM, but I think you didn't enable that feature.  You can PM me, and I'm happy to pay for cuttings and your trouble!

On topic, this is a huge score, and I'm with everyone else!  Wishing Howie good luck with this acquisition.

Suzi

Best of Luck!  And Thanks, Navid for your generosity!

There seems to be a single, little fig developing on the MF! My wife must think I'm nuts, to be so excited over a single fig. But when she tastes it she'll know!

I hate to be the one to tell you but someone has to. That fig will not make it in time to ripen unless we are having warm weather consistently through til the end of November. Also a young tree such as what you must have obtained really should not be spending energy on trying to grow figs. The best thing to do is to remove it and wait until next year, then you can allow a few to ripen.

Exactly what BLB said. You should remove that small fig now, next year your plant will reward you for it. Here are some photos taken before taking your plant to the PO.

Great packaging Navid, not a single leaf lost!

A great looking plant, too!

Congrats on your lovely new tree! :)
