--- yeah, this is IT, Strawberry Verte (PIX)

This fig just set the bar VERY high! Some people are afraid to give 10 to the first fig they try, not me!
10 out of 10, easy.
It has everything you want: size, color, taste, closed eye, doesn’t split, vigorous.
The strong berry taste lingers on in your mouth for long after the fig is gone.
I would recommend it to anybody, especially to the people who just starting.
It is not a rare fig but you will never regret it!
Enjoy! (this is the main crop)

Lovely , even the syrup is red. like Strawberry jam

Nice! I have a small Battaglia with a single big fig growing on it, I removed all others. I can't wait to give it a try. It looks like it will be a race for the first main crop between Battaglia, RdB, HC, and an unknown dark greek.

Wow...that certainly look very appetizing. Is this the same as verte?

Norhayati

I do not know if it is the same as Verte or not, sorry.
I obtained mine from Jon in February 2013, assertion number B3002.

Calvin, let us know who wins! :)

Aaron, yes, it is a pure strawberry jam in a neat packaging!

I'm sold, its now on my wish list! I've been avoiding temptation on getting any more than the 2 CDD I'm still looking for but from your pics and Fignutty's praise of this fig I have to have just one plant!

Igor,

Very nice fig
Did you test the seeds ? Crunchy ? for a '10' mark it has to be crunchy!..  Heavy ?

Francisco

Francisco,
Yes on both accords. It is a crunchy jam.
I tried to germinate the seeds last year and had no problem.
I do not expect this year to be any different.

Rob, I think you will have no problem finding the cuttings.
Good luck!

Very nice. Looks and sounds like our Battagglia. It's loaded with figs already. We are really looking forward to when they are ripe.

That is one great looking fig! I have a TC Strawberry Verte that is growing like a weed, and a Battagalia Green cutting that is starting very slowly. Hopefully I will get figs off both of them next year, but this post is going to make it VERY hard to wait.

Those images took control over and made me order a tree. :)

That fig is down right gorgeous.  I have a Strawberry Verte, and another just Strawberry.  If anyone knows if they are the same please lets us know.

Wow, I've got to get me one of those!

Strawberry Fig, Verdone Fig, Green Ischau Fig, Ficus carica 'Strawberry', F. carica 'Verte', all the same according to a nursery listing I saw recently haha

I hope mine turn out to be like those in the photo. I have figs on my in-ground trees/bushes but will not be ready for another month or more.

Beautiful looking pulp-thank you for the pics!

That's a great looking fig!

Igor, could you post a leaf photo? I also have one from Jon, just labeled "Strawberry". Mine was very slow to start growing this year, but is finally growing after extra fertilization. Also, do you think this fig had a visit from the wasp? Very nice looking fig! I hope the little ones on my plant can ripen.

Mike in Hanover, VA

I've got a Verte, and it looks the same.  The one I tasted this year was delicious, and maybe a little too ripe, but the tree is huge and loaded!  I'll post photos when the others ripen.  They are all big and green, but not yet ripe.

Thanks for posting the photos!

Suzi

That fig looks awesome! Anyone have cuttings, or air layers they want to sell or gift? Or know where i can buy?
This just moved to the top of my list. Thanks for sharing the info!!

What a beautiful fig.

Awesome looking interior !!

That looks absolutely delicious!!!

I got my Strawberry Verte from another local member last year.  It struggled last year, but is growing nicely this year. However, I don't think it will put out fruit.  Maybe next year.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words! I really happy to it in my collection.

Mike, please see the leaves. They ale leaning towards the one-lobed ones and the plant has a somewhat floppy appearance. My fig is in a 3-4 gal pot and gets full sun from 9 am till 7 pm.

I got 6 cuttings of SV in February, and I must say they were among the fastest to root of any varieties I got. All 6 rooted, and I kept 4 and passed along the others to members. They are now in 5 gallon pots, and main crop starting. They are vigorous and show no sign of disease. One is going in ground this week. I hope the fruit is as nice as yours Igor!IMG_3029.JPG  IMG_3028.JPG
