YEE HAW...My first ever Fig !

Today, I walked out to the Fig Trees, we planted them  over a couple of months ago. My wife had told me that there was a dark Fig hidden on the bottom of one of the small trees. She told me which Tree or I would have walked right pass it. It was my "Gino's Black" from a cutting I got from KK  ( A great Fig Seller). It was already drooping. I think the birds or Squirrels would have done ate it, but it was hidden. Man this Fig was sweet and Berry Tasting but the little tree only had one, I was going to save my Wife the other half but....I couldn't help myself .....Oh well   :)

My small "Peter's Honey has over 50 figs on it...Things are starting to look good this year.

Hope everyone has a great year and also this Winter, we all deserve a light one, after  last year.

See Ya'll

Nice! Glad you enjoyed it Frank. hope you have many more ahead

Frank, very nice. Thanks for sharing your first fig.

If now the feeling Frank. I am excited each time I get to taste a new to me one.

Beautiful!

It is really hard to share.  I was lucky and got two ripe ones this morning, and JD was lucky to get 1/2!

Noyce! May that be the first fig of many!
I always share my figs with my daughter, but she always wants the big half!

Congrats Frank!!

That's great, Frank!  My first dark fig was a Gino's.  I would've been devastated if I'd missed one.  ;)  They are VERY good.  Here's to more figs this summer.

So happy to see your efforts rewarded, Frank! To MANY more. Gary in CA

Great to read your posting.  It will only get better as time goes on and all your figs start to ripen.  There will be plenty for you AND your wife.

Hope the rest of the season brings continued surprises and some good eatin'.

Frank

Gratz! Looking to that day myself. Real soon I hope!

That's got to be really nice.  First Fig and it a real pleaser at that.

Frank, good to see all your work is starting to pay off already. I've been "ruuting" for you.
Wait...first fig ever?
Wow! Double congratulations.

Nice photos too.

Congrats Frank. You will always remember your first.
I still remember mine.♥.

Congrats, Frank.

First of many more that's for sure.

Nice one.
Sometimes it is best when we do not know the fig is there... it gets to hang there until perfectly ripe.

Thanks, to everyone for the words of encouragement! Can't wait till a little later and see what I get!! :)

Hello Frankallen,
Congratulations. It is good when work pays off !
Each year the first figs are something I'm waiting on.
And each year it is a real pleasure.
Tell the wife you need (much) more trees for sharing (more) fruits with her :)
Mine now always asks which cultivar the fruits come from ... I'm wondering if she caught the bug and is planning for a fig-garden for her ...

Today, I just froze some figs to see how they are after thawing . I'll test them later in the year, in December perhaps - If I dare to wait until then ...
