Yellow Long Neck

I pick this one tonight.. This was sitting almost ready for a long time, but today I touch it and this was soft, so I pick it up..
I like the taste, kind tender, not too sweet..I do have more on another plant..

Good looking fig when ripe. Thanks for posting.
Is 'Yellow Long Neck' its name or just your description of it?

This is Yellow Long Neck, I got cuttings last year from Jon, now they start produce.. Fruit kind big..Only for some reason took longer time to ripe..
After Herman ask how long take to ripe a figs I start watching.. And Zingarella , Marselleis VS taking I think like 3 days, Sal's Corleone may be 4-5..But this one took like 10 days.. I will see if on other plants this will take so long.. But we did have rain for 2 weeks here, fig don't split, don't sore..

One called Yellow Long Neck has been grown by several members of CRFG for years. (I have pix which have not bee prepped fro posting yet.)

One called Long Yellow originated at Quail Gardens in CA, with that name. Do not know were they acquired it from.

Do not yet know if they are the same.

Presume both got their name as a description of their shape.

Hi, Jon!
I got from you Long Yellow cuttings this year and they did good..
So, hopefully next year they will start produce so I can post pics of both this varieties and give my opinion about the taste..

It looks like my Long Yellow. Mine came from R.Watts. It gave me 3 figs last year. I pruned it hard to force branching, hence no figs this season.

@Ottawan  -  it is a nice looking  large fig. Wish taste was more figgy. Not sure whether its due to the young age of my tree(2nd year). I got this variant when I was told that this is one awesome tasting fig that must be had.

Just keep it..
Last year..To be honest with you, I was kind not excited about taste of Zingarella..This year this is much better tasting fig..
I hear before with age figs will taste better and better..
I have few Yellow Long Neck and other do have more fruits..So, I will try them all.. And hope next year they will taste even better..

Thanks for the encouragement Olga.

You welcome:-)
So, which one's on this list? I mean must to have list?
I'm all the time looking for a new varieties...
Which one you already got and which one your favorites?

Some good ones to have for your zone :
Noire De Caromb
Col de Dame Noire
Lebanese Red
Sucre Vert
Nero600m
It-395
Cendrosa
Nefiach
FF Roja
Valle Negra
Genovese Nero
Sequioa
Brogiotto Bianco
Corynth
#GM 5(Maltese Falcon)

Olga, my goal is to have all these varieties. In my zone, I would need the greenhouse as some are late ripeners. Most of the said variants are harder to acquired and certainly patience needed. If you are going for them, good luck.

Thank you Noss!

Paully I real like your list..
I try to root Lebanese Red.. I lost 3 cuttings..
I do have Maltese Falcon and Genovese Nero..
I will look for all I don't have..
Thank you very much!
Too bed you told me too late about Nero600m..
I think this one just was for sale on Ebay..Too bad I find out too late about this one..For sure I will try to bid on this one..
I do have Nero and for long time this one was very slow, but now look good and even have few figs on.. So, I'm happy to see them..
I real think you need to add to this list some other..
I can't wait to try Jordanian Zraqi..
And few other..
I still think Fiorone de Ruvo will do great here..Two figs felt down, so I think I will need to wait till next year to try this one, but after plant lost figs this now start grow, so this is good..
I think this year I will try more figs, so after this I may add to your list few more..
This year real good for me.. Almost all figs have fruits on.. Some loosing, some not..I real get upset when they loosing them..But I understand they still too small to handle all those figs...
So, which one your favorite? Which one you try?
Olya.

Olga, those are the variants I hope to gather over 2 seasons.  I already have some in the mail(on the way) as I write plus I have some growing, not big plants yet but growing well. Anyway, I am thankful to many members in the fig forum who are helping me to have some delicious fig variants. Nero600m rooted reasonably well for me. I had 2 plants & I gave one away. The one that gave me the most challenge was Col de Dame Noire. Over 2 seasons I may have rooted 11 or more cuttings. Somehow, they seem to die when up-potted to 1 gal pot. With regard to Lebanese Red, I hope to be a good owner to one soon. I used to have a Genovese Nero, Corynth & Brog. Bianco plants -- unfortunately they died. Once again, I hope to have replacement plants soon.

I second Noss' comment--very nice looking fig!

One of the ones Jon has came from George Emerich to Edgar Valdivia to me and then to Jon.  He's got cuttings of it for sale: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fig-Tree-Cuttings-/281064204946?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4170bb6a92
