You can tell it's winter

Eggplant, grapes, old cars... I assume those are varieties of figs I haven't heard of, or to many people are already hunkered down for the winter. I hate eggplant, grow some grapes, and got 52 on the old cars (not my forte).

Watching the figs slowly go dormant, or start their third growth flush of the year - just depends. Eating some bananas, passion fruit, oh, and enjoyed some Black Madeira figs today which were better than I expected for December. Life is good.

Well you live in paradise I live in new jersey it's 80 by you is 42 here and that's warm. I'm moving next door to Jon watch out. Ever see an Irish man tan? be prepaired. Lol
I bet you don't have to drag around 30 gallon pots.

Way to go Jon, kick us when we're down. We'll get the last laugh.

Rub it in Jon.

We are only resting up - 60 days and counting until we get our packages from you.
Oh wait, you on the other hand don't have that luxury of looking forward to Feb 1st and getting a package.
You get to look forward to cutting, counting, sorting, labeling and then the trips to the post office.  Ya, living in paradise has its perks and we are glad you are there.  :))

Least here my figs don't get sleep apnea.

any Santa Anna winds in San Diego?

I have perceived a dramatic imbalance in memberships here; most of us live outside of paradise. Either it is a very small place, or those of us who are not in paradise are drawn because we need extra support and education to be successful.

I love getting reports and glimpses of this magical place and wish more paradisians would extend all of our seasons, in our dreams, and tell us more stories about what it is like living there. They are probably just way too busy rollerskating around, picking, peeling, and eating fresh fruit to post any consolation pictures for us to gawk at  Y_Y

No wind here. None. Zip. Nada. For two days you have had to stare at a tree to even find a leaf that is twitching. Not even a hint of a breeze.  Very bizarre - but nice.

I hadn't realized till now, but maybe those dancing sugar plums that are such visionary items in the east are actually figs. It would explain a lot.

I can't wait!
