Darn. I hope that's not the case - that sounds horrible!!! I've seen opossums in the yard years ago, but not recently at all. But there is no reason they wouldn't be here unless preditors were getting them.
I have seen a ground squirrel in the immediate area the past couple days, but not eating the figs. I meant to set the traps, but forgot. Earlier this year I got about a half dozen of 'em in the same area.
We also have pack rats - the little guys with the big ears that Ingevald got.
Must set traps tomorrow!
