Your Favorite Tasting Fig

The truth is there are so many great figs this list is too short and I think a lot of the more common figs get over looked way too often. LSU Gold, for example, never gets any attention and is cheap price-wise yet can be outstanding. I prefer the green figs with dark red pulp that have a strong berry flavor (Monstueuse, JH Adriatic, Vasalika Sika, Panachee, Calvert, etc.) so what is the best to me is not going to be the best for everyone. The 5 I listed are favorites and I have multiples of each and they tend to get the best first.

I guess with the few I had this year it has to be Peter's Honey, Antonio's Black ,Ronde De Bordeaux and Violet De Bordeaux! .....Didn't get many Figs this last go around....:)

Ditto on Peters honey, the Negronne was very nice also but my two questionable Celeste were simply awesome and lots of them too! God I miss August lol!

For me this year the best were Preto, JH Adriatic, LSU Scott's Black. I have several varieties that I have high hopes for next year that didn't properly fruit this year.
