Aaron, Harvey, As promised, have checked a good number of Caprifigs and the majority had a few Mammoni still green and hard. Some had nice crops others not so much ... The ones I am showing now, are late Mammonis and will probably ripen late September or even October and by that time their load of wasps will move into young Mammes not yet shown on the trees.. They may appear as small buttons late September. Francisco
Francisco, maybe the pic files are oversized...reduce them.
Thank you Aaron. Pic size is OK, the 4 pictures totalled less than 300 kB The pic loading system has changed ! Francisco
Francisco, I think the thread can handle a bit over 250KB EACH pic...I tried, my standards are 800x600 which can equal to about 120KB if I use 12MP on cameraAwe, I can see the pics at the bottom but they won't open to large pics when you click on them.
Are these pollinated by one specific Caprifig or any caprifig can pollinate Zidi to harvest huge 130+ grams fruit?
I'm pretty sure any Capri fig can be used to pollinate. Its only if you want to plant the seeds and get common figs do you need a persistent Capri fig.
If Zidi... the fruit weighs 60-80 grams only... Is it because the caprifig not really suitable or the growing conditions? Or maybe FmV?
Sort Zidi is not accurate, unified description. Many gardeners show photos where the fruit has a different shape and weight.
