I'm all for identifying all the best breba varieties and san pedro varieties. We need them in the north east. Who can wait until end of July to eat a second crop fig? Not me. So far my Mom's unknown Italian and my desert king are best for breba productivity, taste and earliness. looks good though Jon. Where did you get the idea to call this one Cuban? Seems ironic, I was just in Cuba over new years with an agricultural delegation and no one grows ficus carica. I did find one in a botanical garden outside of Havana but that was just one specimen. Figs get names according to where the seedlings grew up. Raspberry Latte originally grew up under my coffee tree, and was known as "Coffee", Latte represents that heritage, while Raspberry represents the berry like flavor and color. "Cuban" has grown up in the middle of my patch of Cuban Red bananas, so for now it is "Cuban" Eventually, if it turns out to be a good variety, it will get a new, more appropriate name, such as Havana Gold, or whatever, depending on what it turns out to be. New ones last season were Raja S1, Raja S2 and Raja N, three that grew up in the middle of my Raja Puri banana patch. They will also get More appropriate names in time. Another group was known as B Mad 001 to 008, as they were presumed to be Black Madeira seedlings. One went on to be Encanto Red.
