Hmm.  Difficult to say.  Last year a few big rains ruined 80% of my LSU purple crop, though it's supposed to get better with age, and be one of the better figs around (even though its quite common in the south).  My hardy chicago only made a handful of figs last year, and all were VERY figgy, but just lacked in sweetness.  I attribute it to being a 1st or 2nd year tree and those figs ripening pretty late in the year.  Of my cuttings...I doubt I'll get any figs, but if I do let any of them fruit, I want a JH Adriatic.  Never had an adriatic-style fig, and I hear it's one of the better ones out there.

My complete fave of 2014 was Mary Lane? seedless.  It isn't seedless, but it oozes honey, and is my fave!  I owe some cuttings to  a local vineyard in exchange for a fabulous day of wine tasting.  I think it's Mary Lane.  Not so sure.  But Verte will go to the vineyard too.  I owe them big time.

For me,

Its my Greek fig that I germinated from seed.  This summer will be its third year of growth from seed.  I germinated about 10.  Hopefully one turns out be fruit bearing.  Its a stark black fig with Burgundy red on the inside....well that was the fig I got the seeds from.

Beautiful taste.

Hopefully I will get something interesting.

This probably seems a bit strange but I'm looking forward to Brown Turkey just to know if I'm a lover or hater of it.

I know HC is a winner and hope for a few this year.  So many tried to make figs but I started late.  I just hope they come back from winter.

I can't wait to taste a properly ripened Vista. I harvested one last week that survived rain and frost. It was pretty beat up, but still yummy flavor. The real crop is going to bring tears to my eyes.

DesterDance, it's great to see you posting again!

It would great to get a properly ripened Kathleen's Black.  This one was rooted in 2012 and it's due!

I have about 12 other figs that I should be able to taste for the first time too.

My husband is incredibly sweet and lucky for me, encourages me to pursue growing fig/fruit trees :). My first tree was a Sumacki from Bass that my husband got for me for Christmas in 2013. I can't wait to see how she does this year!

For me, it's probably Galicia Negra.  My tree started out last year small but later had a fig develop that was ripening in August, I believe.  It was almost ripe and I came close to picking it but decided to give it a couple of more days.  It was completely gone when I returned two days later and it didn't form any more figs for the season.  I wish I had at least taken a photo so I could have stared at it some more!

Well, I have about 25 plants that are a year old which I rooted last year, another 10 which are 1yr olds that I traded my extra plants for, 2 Chicago Hardy plants which I bought which are 2y old, and another few that are 2-3 years old that were gifts.  Last year I got 5 figs from my plants, most of which were not great.  Looking forward to all of them!

If I had to pick one of those I rooted last year, I am looking forward to Grasa's Unknown Purple because the one I had at the end of the season was surprisingly good for finishing ripening indoors under a light.

I'm looking forward to more Rockaway Greens then JH Adriatic to compare to the Rockaway Greens -- could JH Adriatic possibly be better than Rockaway Green?  Then there's Green Ischia, and I'm sure I'll think of more ... but as of the moment, I'm a wannabe green fig eating machine.

Yes Dennis Yes! Gimme the Green!

The other one I am hotly anticipating is that Violet SEPOR you raved about in 2013. I got cuttings from Jon last year, and one made it.

Another one that I am also really waiting for is that BLACK ZADAR from Vito. Oh. My. Lord. Kind of butt shaped (ala Jennifer L), and the interior is sort of bronzy. The taste? I do not have the words! Like nothing else. DROOL DROOL DROOL.

One that people don't rave about too much is Petite Aubique. Now that is a crazy good fig. Along the lines of VdB but with that j ne sais quoi if you know what I mean. Just incredible. Big producer too.

This I know as I have been eating the living daylights out of it for the past two summers at Barry's. YUM YUM YUM! I wonder what Hermann thinks about this one. It sure brings home the bacon in our weird climate area. Big winner.

The more I think about it the more answers I have. I'll go with Nero 600m and RdB .

I'd also be happy if I can root any Adriatic JH and get fruit this year, but I won't hold my breath on the fruiting part.

But any ripe figs are the ones I anticipate the most.

Donna, I got mine from VS many years ago, around 09 or 08.   I think VS got his from Gene so they could very well be the same.  Some are saying the one in my photo look just like Giovanni's Paradiso.  Heck I don't really know if that's true.   Mine does have specks of rust in it, zoom in for a better look.  According to Maggie, the Paradiso with the rust pecks is the real one.  But Gene disagrees.  All can say about all of this is welcome to world of figs!  HA!  I'm just tickled to have a nice tree that gives me awesome sweet figs!!!

Here that link on one of the first discussions on Paradiso.  http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/fig/msg0222022731287.html

For my sanity, I was able to get my hands on Giovanni's Paradiso.  Thanks to a well respected forum member.  I will be comparing the 2 this summer.  More to come!

Hi,
Yall know the song : "I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now !" .
That's my favorite when speaking to my fig trees!

But to be more selective, I bought a Panaché last September, and that's the one I would like to have figs from.
But all the others better behave ! Especially one unknown I've been growing for 3 years without even one figlet to report about.
