My unknown Italian fig tree from Bologna Italy has this breba on 1 branch by itself i thought was interesting
Breba Italian Unknown 5.5.09
and same tree but this 1 has company

Well its been about 47 days since that 1st picture the 2nd picture brebas fell off, this is how that fig looks now.

hope it was good for you!
The one that i have im not sure , the weather is good as it will be hot at least for next 7 days, im waiting for the fig to swell but so far just a little color change which kinda reminds me of what main crop did last year turned color started to shrivel and then fall off tree , 1 ripe fig from this tree last year. But if this 1 makes it i will see that as a great sign if not then i can only hope that main crop come thru finally in this tree's 4 th growing season.
Something i never had is a breba fig to eat they just never make it here on any of my trees. So time will tell!

What i wrote in last post about the 1 breba on tree that stayed


The one that i have im not sure , the weather is good as it will be hot at least for next 7 days, im waiting for the fig to swell but so far just a little color change which kinda reminds me of what main crop did last year turned color started to shrivel and then fall off tree ,

I looked at it today and it has not swelled it turned darker and feels soft , i can tell that its sour inside just by the seeing similar this happen with main crop last year, they did the same as they turned dark started to shrivel and fell off , when opened it was raw inside. Im sure this one will be the same and will take pictures tomorrow of it on tree if it doesn't fall off y then.
On a good note tree seems to be producing and growing a main crop rather well . Time will tell this year one way or another .
Also i have yet to get a breba to ripen on any of my trees ever so its kind of expected.
With the different trees obtained this year it may or may not change in the future, 1 tree i do have now but to young is a san pedro type breba only,
 for me no fig wasp for main crop and will be very interesting for me to see if it does bare a crop how they will taste and im curious if it bares when they will ripen in my climate.
I'll try to post the italian unknown lonely breba that started the thread tomorrow.

Sometimes these brebas can cause an obsession.  I have a Patricks Super Giant with three brebas on it very low on the tree.  Now it is covered with limbs and leaves and each day I peel back the leaves to see the brebas same as yesterday, same size, still green and about the size of a ping pong ball.  They will probably ripen and fall off or be eaten by birds on a time when I am out of town.  I got some Zidi cuttings from UCD this Spring and they are listed as a Calimyrna type which I found out too late.  None the less, one the tree has a big breba on it and I may, if it falls off, get out my trusty fig newtons, spread some paste on it and eat it anyway.  People are showing these posts and stating how they are eating those delicious brebas and I am getting darn jealous. LOL

C.H. aw dont get jealous  ; ) about not eating breba, never had one myself but sure had many a main crop figs! I just dont get brebas to ripen here dues to the things i do and the weather although never had a breba come this far so i thought i would take pictures and all just in case it came thru for me but after looking at it today thats just not the case.
Here are ome pictures of it once again but its surely what i call spoiled.
Last picture is just showing whats to hopefully come this season.

I Picked fig up off the ground this morning and cut open and as predicted by looks and feel and no swelling earlier in thread it was not even worth going through the trouble to post picture. Thats ok i simply dont expect breba on my trees to eat, one plant is a san pedro type but very young from UcDavis and time will tell what my climate lets this one do.
On another note even spring was cold and rainy my adult trees are coming along well.

Thanks Scott, thats what i have been hearing that most breba are so so.
That Violet De Bordeaux is such a nice looking fig, my young plant had some but fell, im getting a few main crop ones maybe they will ripen this year tree is young though, hope to get a taste!

This is its 4th season, was one of a few sticks brought from Bologna Italy in a suit pocket that i was able to root in a table top water fountain .
Last year for First Time i ate a ripe fig ONE to be exact, the rest shriveled and fell off just like the previous year. As i was root pruning this past winter i was jabbed rather hard in my neck and it bloodied my shirt.
I cussed it i really did all by myself in the garage the tip that stuck me was previously pruned off so it was a tough end . 
Anyways i have been saying it better give me more than 1 ripe fig this year going into its 4th year ive taken good care of this tree and will continue to do so just for this season for if it does not give more than 1 ripe fig it will suffer a chicago winter not in the comfort of the garage but naked in its pot right where it sits.
