Reply with quote | #1 | As most of you may already know there are only a hand full of fig collectors and/or dealers we can trust.
Topics on WORTHLESS dealers are no secret and are stacking high and I don't care to mention any names because today the topic is on the few honorable ones.
Names like Jon, George (gorgi), Adriano all of whom I've dealt with.
Today I'd like to add Bass from Trees of joy in Pa.
He is no stranger to the fig world and I know some of you may have an experiance with him in one form or another.
I purchased a Black Madeira fig from him and communication with him was 2nd to none. I'm not going to sit hear and explain all of the events that took place but he showed what an honorable man he is.
It is he and the other names I've mentioned help make this HOBBY such a JOY and I'm sure there are others just like them.
The tree is all I expected and more and I think it will do good. I will give it the same special care as I do with my Sals (C).
Thank you Bass @ Trees of joy.

Yes, the above mentioned names are great people to deal with figs, I would trust any of them completely. I have only dealt with Jon in the mentioned group. But, if I may, I would like to chime in my own opinions about a couple others, that even though there might not have been money passed between us, Martin D'Amore, Leon in New Mexico and Giuseppe are also the top as far as I am concerned. The figs were packaged like they were gold and the communication is Wonderful, beautful healthy rooted trees. So I add these gentlemen to the list. Just thought I would mention. |

Reply with quote | #7 | I live near Bass and have been to his place twice to get trees for my family and myself and he is great. He has knowledge and is willing to help you and give you suggestions or whatever you may need. Without Bass's website Trees of Joy and his help i never would have found out about growing figs in containers, this forum, and all of you guys. Thanks Bass.

I just got a few plants from Vinnie Johns (johnsvmf) as well. Definitely a great guy with great plants and I have no worries about them being what he says they are.

Reply with quote | #9 | i've got trees from george, bass and vinne, plus james robin. it's great to have reliable sources. the trees i got from one green world i've also got a lot of confidence in. the trees from willis orchard? very little confidence. i will not trade any of those trees with anyone until they are grown out and pics are vetted here in the forum. |

I also recently ordered from Bass @ Trees of Joy and I would definitely recommend him to others. As someone who wanted to try to grow some fig plants, but that's about all I knew!, he was a great source of information. |
