3$ for 1 KG is very good price for these delicious figs. In the usa we pay $3 for 1 pound which is less than half a kilo.

Common Bass:Be fair. Many people in rich countrie think short like you do. $3 a killos,is low price,HERE,in the USA but not in Turkey. You account it like that: Medium Salary here:$12 an hour. 40 hour week =$480 You can buy $480 divided by $3=160Kilograms of figs can be bought on a week salary. Turkey:$7000 a year:52 weeks=$134 weekly, and can buy: $134:$3=44kg of figs for a weekly salary Now Mister Bass are fig expensive in Turkey or not? I fill so bad when I know many people in this country think like you and I fill worse that some of them are new emigrants here and should know better??????

Herman, thanks for the explanation. I, like Bass and others, probably just had no idea. We think a dollar here is the same as a dollar there---at least I did.
Aliok1, those figs are beautiful and look delicious. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Herman, I am well aware of cost of living in other countries. What I meant to say that in the US this is a good price, but for Turkish people specially where figs are abundant, it is expensive. I agree with you 100%.

Those are huge figs. What varieties get that big here? (And still taste good)

It is one of my best succeses in growing rare difficult to grow cultivars. And yes that is my own picture if anyone question!!!

Actually I meant the ones in the post. The avatar pix are too small to make out anything. Let's see your avatar full size... you've got me curious now. Maybe start a new topic so we don't hijack this post.
