I am living in the tropics, Malaysia to be exact. Is it necessary to create mini greenhouse (like covering the small fig with bottles etc)? Or just leave them as is since the relative humidity here is more than 80%? Or we need to cover them certain time of the day? I really appreciate some answers from fig friends who stay in the same climatic zone as I am.

If your like me I don't think covering does much for the humidity, but it does help protect them against bugs or animals.

Thanks Meghan. When I first started I lost a number of cuttings due to high moisture. Now I do not cover them but a few friends suggested I should cover them. It really made me confused but my gut feeling says that the tropics is actually a BIG greenhouset
