I hope i'm going at this right. I prune the tree today, cutting quite a bit. I think, I did a pretty good job(pat myself on my back). My thinking is that there will be less shock on the root system. Not sure about the roots when it gets cold. The tree has not been rapped in the past winters, but I worry about the roots freezing after digging and planting in new spot.
Thursday, I will prune the second tree and dig them both out on Friday. Wish me luck.
The first tree the gentleman told me it's a Celeste, if so maybe baby Celeste. He told me they were about the size of a quarter and were very sweet.
If anyone wants cutting let me know, just the cost of shipping. I don't know yet what the other fig tree is yet, but there will be plenty of cutting from that also. If you would like to trade that would be ok too.

I would definitely be interested in some cuttings from both or either tree. I'm fairly new to growing figs and am going to try getting some trees started this winter under grow lights. Thanks

Hello Bob,
No not yet. My son has the week off from teaching, so maybe i can get him to post pictures of the leaves. I'm sure the cast and crew of figs4fun will identify them.

Have an update on trees. Will post pictures soon of fruit and trees. There slow to branch out, my guess is shock. Was told in the beginning maybe Celeste and Brown Turkey. Well, it's not a BT. It has 2 different fruits on one tree, so Breba and main crop are close. The Breba crop, I think has been ripe for awhile but did not spoil on tree. It is large and more on the round and flat shape. It has an open eye, but after heavy rains it did not take water in fruit. The skin is dark on most of the fig and on top some are lighter, the skin cracks nicely. The inside color is kinda like a Wahan, with a viod in lower part. I can not explain the flavor, but it was delicious and the skin was tough but very rich. WOW. The main crop is much smaller and same colors, but fruit has no void. Very sweet and with tight eye. Hopefully when I get pictures up someone will identify. luke
