If it's a BT. I have picked three breba figs. The first one had been pecked and was sour and moldy. The second was soft and drooping and I ate it as was the third. This part puzzles me. I thought the BT was a dark fig. These figs were more yellow on the top and brownish at the bottom. Did I need to wait another day for full color change? I'm sorry when I found these it wasn't a Kodak moment. I'll try to get a picture of the next one. The taste! Juicy = Watery Delicate flavor = insipid All in all I'd give it a 10 as there were no other entries to compare it with. Pics are everything. Can't tell anything without them. But you got no pics? It wasn't abnormal for my (now dead hacked up) BT to have the yellow to tan interior if I left it till dead-hanging-ripe. __________________ Jason Atlanta/Grant Park area - z8

It's a brown turkey. Brown is normal :) Yellow and violet are common colors (on the outside). Make sure you don't water it any more than necessary while it's fruiting. Well I picked two more today and took pictures but all of them were too big. My computer is so slow. All this is sooooo aggravating. Hey Charles, Look at these pics of my Brown Turkey fruit and you'll see the deviation of interior colors. BT tends to brown out more depending on how much water it gets while ripening and based on how ripe it actually is, and even whether it's breba crop or not. I purchased a brown turkey from our local grocery store, Stop N Shop. The tree grew figs, but they all just disappeared. I blame the squirrels. Then I had three brebas, but they all fell off. So I am looking towards my first brown turkey this year, maybe next month? Charles, They look like Brown Turkey to me. I'm not the best at identifying, so perhaps someone else will also chime in. I have a very productive excellent growing and good tasting BT. Don't let the BT haters disuade you from growing. A good one is good, just saddled with a cursed name.
