Dave...

Great article, and very interesting reading.  I guess we are all doing God's work by growing and loving our special fig trees.  Thanks.  I love the long history, and interesting facts that the article outlined, and especially enjoyed the beautiful and artistic old advertising.  I always marvel at the delicately drawn engravings, printing, lush colors, and decorations employed in old advertisements.  So evocative of bygone years, in stark contrast to today's brash, and vulgar, images.

PS...Many years ago, when I was a young child, and felt a little "under the weather" my mother would reach inside the medicine chest on pull out the old bottle of "Fletcher's Castoria Syrup"...a laxative.  Now you know the rest of the story.  It was better than Castor Oil.
