My name is Danny K, I live in Marshall Texas and am recently retired from a diverse career in aerospace and manufacturing. I got into the fig hobby because I love figs and there are so many fig trees in Marshall. I brought a tree with me from Florida and it was the donor for my first cutting. The tree was dug up in Gainesville Florida and it never did anything for 10 yrs, (1 fig, no shoots, no limbs nothing, for the whole time), I cut it way back and it took off, that started it. My fig hobby is funny in that I grew up in a family that was in the indoor foliage business, being contract growers. I spent all my after school time cutting, planting, up potting, and maintaining beds of plants. I HATED IT! It made me decide on education and getting away from the nursery business. Now 50 yrs later I do it as a hobby, go figure. I think the introduction is a good idea, should be stated as a suggestion to all newcomers. Thx Danny K Marshall Tx

Danny, You find it is not that difficult to introduce yourself. A belated welcome to the forum. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask. Remember, the only dumb question is the one never asked. Good luck

Hey Danny, I'm glad you never felt it was time to go by Dan or Daniel. I enjoy saying the name "Danny" for some reason. Anyway, hello from San Diego

Responding to my own first paragraph to the first post on this thread; I could have said it a little better now that I think about it. No offense was intended and hope none was taken. Sorry.
