I got this tree a couple years ago from Bill's figs. This is the first time it is fruiting, so I'm not certain, but the fruit looks strange for this variety. It's very squat, similar to LSU Gold but definitely not that one.

I think I have that as an Italian unknown.  Are your leaves finger like?  Mine are root bound right now since I didn't get a chance to plant them this year. The leaves seem to be the typical looking finger-like ones but they are stunted due to the roots being squeezed together.

Got it last year in a large haul. Owner didn't know what they were exactly.  They are now in 5 gallon painters buckets. Owner didn't seem to really take good care of them and I'm not in a hurry to save them.

Tasted them last year and they were really sweet. Taking a long time to ripen this year due to inconsistent warm weather.

Thanks Dominick, I have heard that Bill sometimes gets his tags mixed up, I'm thinking that is the case with this one. Good to know it tastes good.

Eye is very tight for now. I've got an inverted flower pot on it as the birds are getting most of my figs these days. Didn't think Brunswick had that squat saucer look to it either, but as long as it is a good one the name is secondary

I have a WP I bought from fig trees.net (Joe Morle) in 07 or 08. I posted pictures of the fruit earlier. It can be seen under my post titled, "ahhhh, breakfast". As you can see my first figs were shaped more like one would expect. My last 5 figs on this plant are shaped much more like yours pictured above. I'm supposed to be working so I don't have time to go take pictures but they look just like yours -- it may be the late ones don't elongate for some reason.

Barry, here's another picture - besides the one in my ahhhh breakfast post - of a plate of figs where the WP is to the left and obviously a different shape.
And here's a picture of 2 of the 5 figs remaining on the tree. As you can see they have a different shape then the ones that ripened earlier.

They do look similar Mike, but my fig is even squater that yours. Of course that could just be an odd duck too.

Finally picked this odd shaped fig. Taste was very good sweet and yes I think I did detect a berry taste too.

That's a really interesting looking fig. I had one from my tree last night that was excellent - probably my last fig from my WP this year.

It is a flying saucer shape first one I ever grew lol. That's what I was saying about it a wierd shape, absolutley no neck. It  wasn't very dark inside either. I only had 2 figs on this young tree, the other went to the critters and it to was this wierd shape.

Its funny. I have that unkown Italian that has fruit that looks like a UFO at times, with the very similar pulp pattern. But the taste seems just like Brunswick. They also split the same, even without rain.

I'm junking mine. Not worth it. They spoil very easily and smell and taste rotten.

with so many Paradiso around, i'm not sure if Paradiso White is same as Paradiso Gene.. but the following link has my Paradiso Gene main crop.

Pete,

That's a nice looking fig. It looks more yellow that I though Paradiso Gene was and this Paradiso White looks was darker than I expected too

that was a good looking fig. the first flush of the main crops were great. the second flush also tastes great, if not better. however, due to so much rain, wasps.. hornets.. flies.. and all sorts of insects and taking communal bath in them.

Yeah I have had that happen after heavy rains, the files and wasps zero in on them and that's the end of them for a wwhile anyway.
