Since there are quite a number of fig varieties available and the Northeast can be a difficult place to grow figs in ground, I wondered if anyone had a list of in-ground figs they've tried for a number of years but eventually dug up and replaced with something else. I'm thinking this could serve as a reference for some of us (okay, me), who get way too ambitious in our first years and want to try every cultivar we see. Think of this as a "don't both with it, and this is why" type of list. Could save a lot of time and hassle. Everyone's experience could be different but there's quite a bit of knowledge on the forum and I've benefited a lot from it. Herman, I'm particularly interested in your findings as I know you're rather selective and have removed a number of trees and replaced them with varieties better-suited for our climate.

Yes, I agree. Although there is a lot of information scattered throughout the forum on this it would be great to have it in one place.
