 The seller on ebay is selling red leb and yellow leb. figs, does anyone know about this seller?I am looking for red Lebanese yellow lebanese fig cuttings or trees if anyone has one to  sell or trade.I have about 60 types of figs.Thanks,Rex

the dude is selling honey crisp apple seeds. That says it all don't buy
Water rooted cuttings don't have strong roots. And the names are made up pics look fimiliar too

Lol- it's brown turkey. Not saying brown turkey is bad! I'm saying it looks like Brown turkey. I'm talking about the Red Lebanese.

People,
Do not assume that the seller is trying to deceive buyers. There might be that he brought these figs from abroad and describes them as well as he can. Those might be some excellent figs. You do not know until proved otherwise.
I have bought 2 cuttings of Italian Brooklyn White from nature_park on eBay last year which as well was unknown and suspicious. This year it produced excellent, big size and sweet green figs that do not crack in the rain. I have them still ripening at this time, and have no idea if it is the same fig as Bass' Brooklyn White.
If somebody has good growing conditions during the winter and wants to play with one of those 2 varieties, I could partner and pay half the cost for some cuttings next year. Well, we even can do a 5-6 people partnership around both varieties.

The thing for me that stops me from buying
1. Celts (Dan) answer
2. Being rooted already, means the energy has been used up and you'll end up with a dead stick.
3. No history of seller, good or bad.

Yellow fig pics have been used by several Turkish fig vendors. The yellow may be a Turkish fig named Beyaz Orak.

I agree with Luke and Celt. The roots look too thin and spindly, probably started in water. Even if they legit the cuttings look like they wouldn't make it through the transport, and IMO that's a lot of money to waste just to take a chance.

I asked the seller, where he got his strains. Since his Lebanese Red looked like Brown Turkey lol. He said his family gets them from Cyprus (island in Mediterranean), his brother will be bringing them home with him. He also said they're called Lebanese Red Beauty, locally.

It is nice to hear from you and welcome to the forum.
Are there any trees of what you are selling growing in the US and proved to be cold hardy or you just assume they are cold hardy? Winter temperatures in Cyprus and DE, MD are quite different. One more thing is that people would like to buy unrooted cuttings, so that way they could root them the way they like and not being afraid of shipping damage and dead roots. Fresh, dormant cuttings in February-March would be even better.

I brought the first cuttings last year and exchanged with Mr. Adriano from Canada.
I sent him 3 or 4 cuttings and he sent some 4.
I had one cutting left and that is in a pot growing currently.
I also planted 2 more couple weeks ago and they seem to be doing fine. Green leafs and more buds are blooming.
Temp. in Cyprus is generally warmer but the trees are located on the mountain and it gets cold there... It snows as well.

Ok. I don't want to be rude but I'm calling BS. The listing on eBay is for a tree allegedly from LEBANON. Now it's Cyprian in origin? At a minimum your ebay ad is misleading.

Looking at Google satellite map, I can see some areas in Cyprus are covered with snow. I was also wondering why the description states that the plant is from Lebanon.

Hi There,
Cyprus is located near Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and Israel...
there are many fig varieties on the island.
Almost every other house has a olive, lemon and a fig tree... ( We are talking about thousands of them) Actually cyprus flag has a olive tree on it.
Olives and figs are everywhere on the island.
There are many different varieties and local people named them...
This specific tree came from Lebanon to Cyprus and local people call it lebanese beauty... People don't know the scientific names for the trees on the island.
There are many trees from israel as well... figs, apricots, pomegranates and so forth...
probably the oldest fig tree is on the island...

I lived in limmasol on street during the first gulf war. But I did collect a lot of figs in nicosia limmasol and and fammaguta (turkish side) none of which ever produced. But still guys selling apple seeds and unknown water rooted cuttings at known fig prices with pics from a turkish web site.

Not choosing sides but "Carl" did have a post right after post No.12 which would have made his post No.13 but it appears to have been deleted. Therefore resulting in the numbering restart.

I cannot not confirm he had posted his name on the post but just an FYI.

Therefor resulting in Boris responding by stating his name.

No offense but this post is giving me a headache.  If you have doubts, trust your gut. Not trying to poopoo sellers but there are many lists around of reputable sellers.  If you are new please look around first before committing to buying. There are many posts on good and bad sellers along with some bad stories.  A cutting does not cost $10 to ship.  The purple one now has pics of a Turkish fig known as Patlican ( eggplant).

Seller also registered on the forum the same day as we started speaking about this listing.

Buyer Beware.
